Those Tennessee residents who follow celebrity news very closely are no strangers to frequent news about celebrity divorces. Property division, child custody and child support payments are often the major contentious issues in high-profile divorce proceedings. Grammy award winner Timbaland and his wife are the latest celebrity pair to join the club of high-profile couples heading for a split.
According to reports, Timothy Mosley, better known as Timbaland, and his wife Monique Mosley are seeking a divorce after five years of marriage. The divorce documents reveal that the proceedings were initiated by the 41-year-old music producer’s wife.
According to the divorce documents, Timbaland’s wife is seeking a large sum of money for permanent spousal support and child support. She also wants her producer husband to pay her life insurance expenses, and legal fees for the divorce proceedings.
The music producer may have to pay a considerable amount for child support in the form of school tuition, vacations and summer camp, among other things. He is naturally expected to pay child support for the couple’s 5-year-old daughter. Along with that, he may also be liable to pay the expenses of his wife’s 10-year-old child from a previous relationship because he both claimed and treated the child as if the child were his own.
If the celebrity music producer refuses to pay child support for his wife’s child from the previous relationship, it may become a contentious issue in the couple’s divorce proceedings. Child support payments and child custody issues are two of the major points of dispute between divorcing couples. It is usually in the best interest of both spouses to settle these matters amicably with the mediation of an experienced professional.
